A Rougher Guide To Ibiza

{ Posted on Jul 12 2010 by Tom Binns }

Ibiza is the most western island of the Balearic Islands, and human habitation dates from at least 5000 BC. If all you know of Ibiza is the trashy TV show that play on Satellite TV then you’re in for a bit of a pleasant surprise when you come and visit. Ibiza is hilly and has sandy Calas and rocks and the most beautiful beaches and sandy shores of the Mediterranean.

Renting a car is the best way to enjoy the island. The best beaches are only available by car [and boat obviously] I would be careful about renting a moped. Loads of people get killed and injured riding. Ibiza drivers are not the best and many people drive on drinks and pills.

Ibiza is the perfect if you love the warm summer sun. The island is famous for its hot summers and perfect beach weather and the sunshine is certainly plentiful during this time. In the winter the weather is colder but there’s still plenty of sun. The island tends to be deserted once the clubs shut.

San An is very popular but it’s not to every ones taste. If you love lobster red English fat English families trudging around the town or slobbing on the beach then this is for you. You’re bound to find a bloke called Dave. Families prefer Santa Eularia or Playa Dem Bossa and many hip and single people prefer Ibiza town.

Ibiza has proved a popular destination throughout the years for everyone from the Jet Set to the Hippies. What ever kind of holiday you want Ibiza has something for you. One of the best months to visit is September when the sea is still warm but the sun is cooler and most of the tourists have left.
