There are some really good things about using it and not, so many people use both titles in conjunction with each other... adobe make it's pretty easy to do so too... yay. But for the few things Fireworks has that Photoshop doesn't, use the help button F1. That will probably be the quickest route to all you need to using Fireworks to your advantage. If you've ever used Flash, then it's like that in the sense that it uses symbols -- an awesome feature that sometimes I wish PS included. Look into symbols specifically while you're there.
