Even if the crowd is not really responding, that is no reason to take more time than you’re supposed to have. Rest assured you have possibly taken your chance at performing at their venue in the future.
Be nice to your audience. You need them to be responsive to you and have fun at your material. There is no need to be insulting. Simply because some other comedians do it, doesn’t mean you need to be the status quo.
