Many people do not realize that social media is all the rage out there but they are really tools for use, whether by an individual person or a group. The challenge, as you mention, is to have the group take on a life of its own, create its own personality.

Social media is instantaneous and delaying in response can kill even the best reputations. Social media is the most potent tool to influence people on the web nowadays. There is no limit to the number of ways you can promote your site or business through some of the social media channels mentioned above.

Social media is also tricky. Not only is there no one unified way to measure the results of online efforts, 80% of people (and business people) doubt the measurements that are out there. Social media is used as an asset to an existing project instead of a blanket solution. It’s used as a way to spread awareness. Social media is at the point where websites were 10 years ago. Businesses were expected to have a web site, and the new career, web page designer, came up.

Social media is not about just one network or strategy, it is about continuing to keep up with all of the innovations and thought leaders in the space. By continuing to read and trying new things, you will have a big leg up on those who think they get it by just knowing how to tweet.

Social media is now a large and powerful tool for increasing customer connects and maintaining relationship. Sites like Facebook, Twitter, Myspace are all adopted equally – be it large enterprises, small and medium enterprises or startups. Social media is a great tool for most non-profits, as long as they maintain the accounts.

We believe as professional online marketers, that one problem with non profits is the mistake of using social media to solicit donations and raise money. That method really does not benefit the organization.

With an increase in consumers using the internet to shop and perform business transactions, e-commerce has become the future of the online community. Benefitting completely from the e-commerce boom can be achievable. To keep consumers coming back, you need to create a unique e-commerce site, one that reaches beyond all levels of excellence. When designing your e-commerce website, you should have a welcome or introduction on your home page. This statement should establish the advantages of your site, and assure those visiting that they should be comfortable doing business with you. State your purpose, express your beliefs, and let the consumer know why business done at your e-commerce outlet is always secure.

A quality website has smooth navigation. Categories to scan through and obvious search boxes on the site are a must. Design a simple site with large, easy to read fonts and images that will load quickly. Be sure to have a page with specific questions regarding some of your common business policies such as shipping and returns. You may also want to have a link on your home page that leads visitors to a privacy policy. This policy will ensure customers that you will never supply a third party with information they have entrusted with you. It is nearly essential for all e-commerce shops to display this declaration somewhere on their site.

Just like regular shopping, when going to your online store, customers wish for speedy and effortless checkout. If your online store is equipped with a secure server, make your customers informed of this fact. This will put them at rest and make them want to come back. Your checkout or “shopping cart” should be simply one click away so the purchaser can be in and out without a too many steps. Nowadays, it is best to have diverse payment choices available, such as PayPal and other internet payment sources, credit and debit cards, online checks, and money orders. Put up a contact phone number for customer support so the customer knows that they will have help if there are any troubles with the order.

Set up a specific part of your e-commerce website devoted entirely to special discounts and recent sales. If you have a tremendous amount of sales items, make a separate webpage committed to the ones that are favored most , and have an additional page with a complete listing of all discounts. During the holidays, have a certain area of your website reserved for customers to buy gift certificates.

Setting up a lucrative, worthy e-commerce website can be an uncomplicated task with a well constructed site plan, some time, and patience. Take your time and develop your e-commerce site to be user friendly, secure, and rich in information about your business. Taking full advantage of the e-commerce phenomenon, you can attain your business marketing aspiration.

Aside from being an effective marketing tool online, pay per click marketing has also given millions of website owners the opportunity to make money online. Pay per click marketing has truly given everyone a good opportunity in the Internet.

Pay per click came out in the internet in 2002 and it has, since then, became a popular advertising tool. It has also gained more popularity as Google adopted the concept for their marketing tool, Google AdWords.

Pay per click marketing works by displaying your ads on as many websites as you want on the internet. Putting your ads on websites may not cost you something but when internet users click on your ad, you have to pay the website owner of the cost. Cost in pay per click means the cost per click of the ad.

The pay per click concept follows two models of determining the cost. The flat rate model and the bid based model.

In the flat rate pay per click marketing, you can negotiate with the website owner a fix rate or cost of each click to your ad posted in his website. This usually depends on the web page and the relevance of the website to your business. You can also keep a rate card, which lists all the rates for your ads in different web pages or websites.

Bid-based pay per click is quite different in the sense that the cost per click of your advertisement will be based on how much you are willing to pay for an ad space when your chosen keywords are entered in the search engine. Bid-based pay per click can also mean competing with other advertisers in getting the lowest cost per click, as this will be done through bidding.

Whatever model or ways you adopt for your pay per click marketing, it is important to keep in mind the main goal of your pay per click campaign and that is not just getting many clicks to your ad but making sure also that these will be converted to sales.

To get the desired benefit in using pay per click marketing, there are important things that you need to follow to make your campaign more successful.

by Sean Galusha

To get the desired benefit in using pay per click marketing, there are important things that you need to follow to make your campaign more successful.

A very important factor to consider in pay per click marketing is your budget. You should set how much amount you are going to allocate for your pay per click advertising, and how much you are willing to pay for each click of your ad. In PPC, it is wise to consider that the cost of one click should not be more than the profit you will make out of it.

Another important thing in PPC is to monitor the percentage of clicks to your site that are converted into revenue. You have to make sure also that you set measurable results of your PPC campaign that suits your business.

Also very important in pay per click marketing is the choice of good keywords. Good keywords are those that are relevant and specific to your business. This is also a very important factor in making a successful pay per click campaign because this will bring the right people to your site.

Broad, non-specific keywords should not be the focus in pay per click marketing. The nature of online searches nowadays have changed and evolved, so your PPC campaign should adapt to the attitude of online users.

The internet users of today are now becoming adept when it comes to searching since these users are now using two or even three keywords then they are doing their searches. And since they are optimizing their searches, then this means that there is a greater chance that they are looking for highly-specific keywords.

Since PPC campaign can be monitored, it is suggested that once you bid on a keyword you should always monitor on how it is working to get to your target results.

There are also other factors that affect the success of your pay per click campaign. Search patterns and searcher’s behavior may also influence your campaign. It is therefore necessary to assess your campaign so you will be able to determine if restructuring is necessary.

And there should be important monitoring on your part in order to track your position of your PPC listing online. There will be times when another publisher will beat you on the bid and the ranking and you may need to re-tool your PPC strategy.

by Sean Galusha

Whether a small business wants to venture into marketing their product in the internet or an existing online business wants to be successful, they both need to work on increasing the traffic to their websites. The more site visitors they have, the more chances that the business will be successful.

Letting people know that the business exist is crucial to be successful in this business venture. There are different ways to increase traffic to a website and one of them is known as search engine optimization.

In SEO, keywords are placed in strategic areas of the website so that search engines can rank the website higher in the search results page. If a website gets high rankings, it would be more visible to many online surfers and eventually generate high volume of traffic. However, SEO can be expensive. A cheaper alternative that best suits small businesses and other online businesses as well is the use of Google Adwords.

It is no doubt that Google is the widely used search engine in the internet, and their Google Adwords tool allows businesses to post their links so that traffic can be generated to websites in no time.

This is done by bidding on a keyword related to the businesses’ website. Every time someone clicks on the link, the business pays a certain amount for it. This is called a Pay Per Click advertising model which is done not only with search engines, but with most other websites as well.

Google Adwords also allows businesses to monitor and assess their advertising campaign and how effective are its keywords in generating targeted traffic to their site.

When putting links to other websites, it is important for businesses to put links only to related websites to generate the desired traffic they want. This is important so that the visitors who will be redirected to their website will be those who are most likely interested in the business.

Using PPC advertising is cheap, reliable and very convenient and this could be a good first step in making a small business successful.
