If the SEO words were chosen properly then there should be a maximum amount of traffic redirected back to the original web site and the original owner will be able to make more sales. Of course, this was the original goal.
The traffic needs to be organic traffic. That means that it needs to naturally want to come to that particular web site or it is not sustainable. It would seem that with the words used that the article submission crowd has a lot in common with ecologists, but the two are exclusive. If the traffic is not naturally occurring then it will stop after a while.
There is only so much one article can do and so after it loses its effectiveness it will be reset with another, newer approach.
